Yale Sustainability Fellow 2010
The Sustainability Fellow position is designed to provide hands-on experience for a recent college graduate with an interest in campus sustainability. The selected candidate will be offered a unique opportunity to work in an innovative, internationally recognized campus sustainability program with hands-on, project-based tasks. Program Associate for Strategic Initiatives, Second Nature.
Second Nature is seeking a Program Associate for Strategic Initiatives, who will assist in developing emerging and implementing existing programs, including those advancing green building and renewable energy in higher education. This is a part-time, temporary position. Responsibilities will include managing outreach to colleges and universities on Second Nature’s fellowship and technical assistance programs for under-resourced schools; assisting with meeting facilitation and event organizing; and providing program support to emerging programs, among other responsibilities. Preference is given to candidates with a Masters or Bachelors degree and at least 5 years relevant work experience. Applications are due by October 1, 2009.

GIS Lab Assistant for Summer and Fall 2009
Tufts University Information Technology group is seeking responsible students who would like to help support the GIS Center in Tisch Library. The position is for the academic year 2009-10 and requires 8-15 hours of work per week in the GIS Center. Preferable hours are between 10am and 9pm on weekdays. Pay: $12 per hour. The job will entail keeping the GIS lab operational, assisting students with GIS projects, and providing project support for on-going research projects at the GIS Center. Spring Policy and Science Internships with the Environmental Law and Policy Center
The Environmental Law & Policy Center offers several policy and science internships for undergraduate and graduate students.  Environmental Policy and Science Internships are available throughout the year and are open to undergraduate and graduate students studying politics/government, environmental sciences, business/economics or related fields.  Applicants should have a strong academic record, excellent writing and analytical skills, and a demonstrated interest in and commitment to public interest and environmental advocacy.  Spring applications are accepted between Nov 1- Dec 15.  For more information click here.

Part-time Volunteer Internship with
Roots & Shoots Regional New England Office
Roots & Shoots, the Jane Goodall Institute’s global humanitarian and environmental youth program, is seeking candidates for a part-time volunteer internship in our Boston office. The position would be 10-15 hours per week, beginning in early September and lasting for 4 months. There is the possibility the internship could turn into a year-long position. The Roots & Shoots intern will assist in the support and tracking of Roots & Shoots groups and their service projects, provide clerical support in the office, and help out with a wide range of tasks such as: the production of the quarterly newsletter, upkeep of the regional websites, contacting Roots & Shoots members, working with the press, fundraising and development, projects related to the Roots & Shoots Drop of Hope international water campaign, and support of Roots & Shoots regional youth events – preparation and participation.

Health Resources in Action’s Environmental Health department has been integrating several successful, long-term projects into a comprehensive Healthy Homes/Healthy Places approach aimed at improving the health status of low-income individuals living in urban environments in Boston and across New England, as well as throughout the country. Narrangansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve Intern
Internship applicants are encouraged to submit proposals for individual or collaborative projects that bridge disciplines. Appropriate fields of study may include (but are not limited to): climate science, marine science, wildlife ecology, forestry, botany, conservation biology, environmental engineering, hydrology, geology, science education, environmental education, planning, natural resource science, journalism, public health, political science, environmental policy, economics, communications, marketing, and atmospheric science. Intern program projects will be designed tby the applicants and therefore tailored to each intern's interests and qualifications; however, all interns will be required to generate a science translation product appropriate for distribution to a broad audience as part of the program requirements. Student Internships with Encyclopedia of Earth
The Encyclopedia of Earth is a free, searchable online encyclopedia about the Earth, its ecosystems, and their relationship to society. The Encyclopedia of Earth is looking for student interns to posting articles and performing other tasks as needed. Interns will work on their own at their home institutions, but will have regular contact with EoE authors, editors, and staff based in Boston, Washington D.C. and other locations. Intern candidates must be enrolled as an upper level undergraduate or graduate student majoring in an environmental science subject or otherwise demonstrating a strong interest and knowledge of environmental issues.
