For students working on interdisciplinary environmental research, TIE offers support through the following programs:

TIE Fellowships

Offered each spring to Tufts graduate students conducting interdisciplinary, environmental research projects. Applications for the 2018-2019 TIE Fellowship will open in December 2017 through January 2018

Travel Grants

Awarded to offset transportation and registration expenses for members of the Tufts community who are presenting at environmentally related conferences, workshops, and meetings, or to Tufts students who are collecting data for environmentally-related research. Applications for both the conference travel grants and the data collection travel grants are accepted on a rolling basis.

Undergraduate Summer Scholars

Students interested in becoming Summer Scholars must apply through the undergraduate education office.  Please let us know if you are interested in working with TIE for a summer!

Tisch Library Undergraduate Research Award

Offered each spring to Tufts students who have shown outstanding use of the library’s collections and resources. All Tufts Undergraduates are encouraged to apply.

Skills-based Workshops and Resources

Tufts has many resources to support skill-building and research assistance. Check out a list of some opportunities available!

Resources from our partners:

Tufts is a University Affiliate of the National Council for Science and the Environment . This is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the scientific basis for environmental decisionmaking. This association offers a number of valuable resources, including networking opportunities, a national conference, and access to an online listing of Environmental Internships.

For job and internship advice, we encourage students to find assistance at Tufts Career Services or to connect with Tufts alumni in the environmental field.
