Taylor Parrish

Experience

Taylor is a PhD candidate in the English department. She expects to complete her studies in May of 2021. Prior to coming to Tufts, Taylor earned her Bachelors in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Through her undergraduate studies, Taylor tutored for three years and worked briefly at a law firm. Currently, she is an intern at TIE as well as a Graduate Writing Consultant at the Tufts Academic Resource Center.

Current Studies and Future Goals

When asked what she found most meaningful about her field of study, Taylor responded with the following: "It allows me to combine all of my interests: history, literature, as well as issues relating to the environment, both past and present."

When asked why she chose to apply for a TIE Travel Grant, Taylor responded with the following: "I was interested in this program for the opportunity it afforded to take place in the current conversation in my field around plants and food systems and their intersection to literary studies."

After completing her degree, Taylor homes to pursue teaching in literary/ interdisciplinary studies and/or tutoring.

When not doing schoolwork, Taylor enjoys cooking and hiking, as well as reading and playing with my cats.
