Adrian Huq

Adrian Huq (they/them) is a first year undergraduate student at Tufts University planning to major in Environmental Studies. Back home in Connecticut, Adrian is a community organizer and serves as the Co-founder of New Haven Climate Movement’s Youth Action Team, which advocates for strong local action on the climate crisis. They have two years of experience working with the New Haven/Leon Sister City Project to promote climate education in New Haven area high schools, and have worked with various local environmental nonprofits. They are also an intern with Urban Resources Initiative at the Yale School of the Environment and a youth speaker at climate-related events in the New Haven area. They are passionate about waste and recycling and hope to work on reforming waste management systems in their career. At TIE, Adrian assists with social media, creating the bi-weekly newsletter, updating the website, and other outreach and communications tasks.
