Meredith is a graduate student in the Urban and Environmental Planning and Policy department. She expects to earn her M.A. in May 2020. Before coming to Tufts, Meredith earner her B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross in Environmental Studies with a Spanish minor. She also worked for a number of years in the private sector as an environmental consultant, where she worked primarily on field assessments/investigations for environmental remediation and/or stormwater compliance. At Tufts, Meredith is also pursuing the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Graduate Certificate.
When asked what she found most meaningful about her field of study, Meredith responded with the following: “Water is critical to our existence in a myriad of ways--just as its uses are complex, so are its management strategies. I see the nexus between water resources management, policy/planning, and consumer society as a connection that demands further exploration and re-imagining, and I hope to find my role there”.
When asked what interested her in pursuing the WSSS Graduate Certificate, Meredith responded with the following: ” The interdisciplinary nature of WSSS caught my attention, as I am passionate about bridging the connections between the science and the human dimensions of water resource management”.
Meredith hopes to practice environmental planning at the regional level and/or pursue environmental data analytics in New England once she completes her studies at Tufts.
