Experience

Taylor Evans is a Master’s student in the Sustainable Water Management (SWM) program, hosted by TIE. She expects to complete her M.S. in August 2020.

Prior to starting the SWM program at Tufts, Taylor worked at an investment management firm in California. Her focus was on natural resources which provided her with insight on new infrastructure projects, innovative technologies, the archaic/complex water laws of the west, and market trends in the sustainable investing space as well as an understanding of the pressing need for increased funding/investment in the space. She chose to further concentrate on water for her graduate studies because she believes it has the most pressing need for both technological and intellectual capital investment in order to sustainably manage current and future demand. Taylor also holds a B.A in Art History.

Current Studies and Future Goals

Taylor was drawn to the SWM program because it stands alone in its truly multi-disciplinary approach to water management and sustainability. She says, “The classes offered through the four concentration tracks of Tufts’ Sustainable Water Management Program present an exciting opportunity to acquire the necessary tools to help me on my way to becoming an expert in water management.”

After completing the program, Taylor hopes the skills learned will help her achieve her long-term goal of a career that encompasses water, infrastructure, and international development. She believes that the lessons learned both in the classroom and through the practicum, along with the relationships built with peers and professors, will help in her pursuit of an innovative water company focused on improving sustainability and solving global challenges.

Fun Facts!

Taylor loves being outdoors, particularly hiking, and especially with friends.

Favorite Place You’ve Visited: Petra, Jordan, and Telluride, Colorado

Other fun facts: I lived in Jordan in high school for a year and the UAE for four months post-college. And I majored in Art History (feel free to ask me why I think it was relevant to my job in finance and the SWM program!).
